When the famous explorer, Ernest Shackleton was searching for brave souls to accompany him on his latest expedition, he placed an ad in many of the London papers in the early 1900s.
He received an overwhelming response. Why? – Because he was honest about what the job entailed and what applicants could expect from it in return. Although this advert is over a hundred years old, it embodies our approach to recruitment today; to be open and honest and manage expectations.
At Sales Recruit Scotland we aim to offer a different service from the majority of sales recruitment agencies operating in Scotland or even the UK. We believe that the current model of how a recruitment agency engages with its clients results in a flawed service to candidates in general.
When a Recruitment Consultant is incentivised to earn commission it creates a conflict of interest for both the candidate and the client. The result is that candidates are pressured into jobs that may not fit with their expectations or requirements. Our consultants are not paid commission for placing candidates or any other activity, so that you can be sure that we offer you the best advice, for what’s best for you, at all times.
We interview every candidate in person (except only where geographical or time constrictions make it impossible) this means that we take time to get to know you, what motivates you, what you expect from your next role and why.
Armed with the knowledge that only a face to face meeting can yield, we are put in a much better place to find the right job for you.
Before we submit your details to any client, we will discuss the job opportunity available and ask for your consent to pass your details to that client.
We promise to tell you who the company is and give you as much information about the sales job as possible. You can then make an accurate judgment about whether the job is right for you, before going forward.
We will always follow up every interview with proper feedback and if you’ve been unsuccessful we’ll give you as much detailed, constructive feedback as possible to help you analyse what went wrong and how to incorporate this into your interview style going forward.
We’ll keep you up to date every step of the way.
We believe in being as open and honest as possible and that means that we are very straightforward about who we can work with and who we can’t. Those that we do work with, we believe in forging long term relationships with. We aim to be a useful part of your network whether you are currently seeking a new job or not.
