Our History

Located in the Scottish central belt, Sales Recruit Scotland was set up at the beginning of 2009 with the aim to provide full and proper value added recruitment services to employers seeking to recruit the best UK-based sales talent.

Too many recruitment consultancies simply skim job boards and shuffle CVs to potential employers. In our eyes, this is not a valuable service.

The company is headed up by Derek Anderson and Robert McGougan, sales recruitment professionals with over twenty-five years experience gained from various roles throughout Scotland. Both are skilled recruiters who have worked their way up from Consultant to Director level with various companies and have vast knowledge when it comes to recruiting sales professionals.

At Sales Recruit Scotland we specialise in business-to-business sales opportunities. Most of the positions that we handle tend to be of a technical nature. Whether these are within Construction products and services, Engineering or Information Technology, the positions that we cover and the people whom we work with tend to have a technical element to them and involve a problem solving or consultation based sales process.

Sales Recruit Scotland is a sales recruitment consultancy for those who have already started to build up their skills and experience within a sales environment. Our core business centres around territory management, field sales positions, and we also cover sales related positions in Scotland across a variety of levels from internal sales (or tele-sales) up to managerial posts.

Unfortunately we do not offer entry level or graduate assistance. If you are someone looking to break into sales from a different career path, (unless you have product experience within a particular sector and are looking to move into a sales role within it) we are sorry, but it is doubtful that we are the best recruitment company to help you.

We are particularly successful at mid-level sales professional positions within niche markets, so if you have a track record in a particular technical space we would be very keen to hear from you.

How we work

We provide nationwide expertise by networking with strong sales people in various vertical markets throughout the whole of Scotland. Expertise in the geographic area, the challenges within a particular market sector and expertise in properly assessing candidates to make sure that the positions we offer are right for them, as well as making sure that they are right for those positions themselves.

Robert McGougan

With twelve years recruitment experience, eleven of those in Sales Recruitment across the UK and Ireland, Robert is a well-known and respected executive sales recruiter across a variety of markets including Construction, Industrial, Business Services, IT and Oil & Gas.

With a wealth of management and leadership experience, Robert’s straight talking and honest approach is integral in shaping Sales Recruit Scotland’s value proposition and service offering.

Derek Anderson

Derek has over ten years recruitment consultancy experience, preceded by three years working as a commercial sales representative within the insurance market and three years as an engineer.

An engineering graduate, he has worked within recruitment at a variety of levels, from Consultant to Director level for a number of firms across the whole of the country. He offers a direct approach, managing expectations of all stakeholders within the recruitment process.
